The Cheerakuzhy Group of Nurseries has been playing a pivotal role in enhancing the production and productivity of fruits, plantation crops, spices, flowers, vegetables and ornamental plants in India. We are one of the largest plant producing company located in Kerala and we are fully equipped to cater to the demand for plants all over India and abroad.

We stepped in to the nursery industry in 1979 and started with the production of only 1000 plants. Initially we were concentrating on Rubber nursery and in 2001, we ventured into the field of Horticulture and Garden nursery as well with large scale production of different types of fruit plants, ornamental plants and flowering plants. We have adopted young budding system which was invented by our founder Karshakasree K. C . Kuriakose, in most of the fruit and ornamental plants as well as in rubber for the easy propagation of quality planting materials.

We have registered three private limited companies for the production and sale of our horticulture and garden plants in the name of Cheerakuzhy Agro Developers Pvt. Ltd., Attappadi Nurseries Pvt. Ltd. and Valley de plants & Flowers Pvt. Ltd. Also, our Mother farm and one of our nurseries at Nilambur, being proprietary entities. Moreover, we have direct sales outlets and dealers in different parts of Kerala.

Cheerakuzhy Agro Developers Pvt. Ltd.

This nursery is located at Mannarkkad (Palakkad district) near Kumaramputhuron National High way side. It is spread in 8 Acers and equipped with poly house and shade houses. Automatic sprinkler facility is installed for irrigation and this nursery is easilyaccessible to customers for their retail and wholesale needs as it is located on national highway side.

Here, we have arranged all our range of plants which are produced in our production centers and those which are outsourced and imported as well. This nursery is well arranged with a vast array of various plants including vegetables, fruits, ornamental, cash crops and flowering plants. All plants are attractively displayed with proper labeling. All our exotic and rare varieties are displayed here and this centre is working as an information center. It is a matter of pride that research students and rare plant hunters consider our nursery as a worthy place to visit for their needs.

This nursery has been registered with Agriculture Department of Kerala (License Number: 4/2015/TA(3)4363/11) and Export Import authority of India (License Number : 1014007160). All our export import activities are being carried out through this company. All our Govt. supply and corporate orders are also undertaken by this company.

The aim of this center is to cater to the requirements of our customers who wish to beautify their surrounding with colors and fragrance of the flowers and plants. We are promoting vegetables and fruits cultivation in the available space at homes in an organic way for their own use. For city living people, who have no land for kitchen garden, cultivation can be done by using grower bags at the open terrace which can be arranged by us.

Attappadi Nurseries Pvt. Ltd.

This nursery is located at Jellipara, Attappadi (Palakkad district), one of the promising high ranges in Kerala.Total area of this nursery is spread across 14 Acers and major area is equipped with poly house and shade houses. Irrigation facility is arranged with an overhead tank having a capacity of 35 lakhs litter water at the top of our land. This nursery is located slightly at a remote area and hence here we are expecting business from big customers and from other nurseries. Since it is less proximate to the city, we have started a retail nursery at Thavalam (Opposite Sehion Retreat Centre, Attappadi) to cater the needs of retail customers.

This is one of our main production centers. Here, we are producing more than 50 varieties of flowering plants for bulk sale, especially, pot variety Gerbera, Hydrangea, Poinsettia, Pot variety chrysanthemums, Pot variety Anthuriums, Orchids, Hibiscus, Ixoras, Pentas, Bromelia, Guzmania, Dahlias, Liliums, Kalanchoe, more than 30 varieties of seasonal flowers and several exotic flowering plants.

Form this nursery, we are supplying flowering plants to different nurseries all over Kerala and Thamilnadu. We are supplying flowering plants to flower shows being conducted in different locations by Govt and non- Govt organizations. Also, we are associated with flower shows and arranging plants in a systematic manner to attract visitors on contract basis.

In this nursery, we are entertaining wholesales and supply to our own selling points for retail sale. We have special covered vehicles with rack system for giving delivery in safe mode.

Valley de Plants & Flowers Pvt. Ltd.

This nursery is also located atAttappadi (Palakkad district) 5km interior from Thavalamin an area of 16 Acers. Since it is a less humid area, we are producing low humidity loving plants. Irrigation facility is arranged with two overhead tanks having total capacity of 75 lakhs litter water at the top of our land. The plants producing at this nursery is also available at our Thavalam retail outlets.

This company is also working as our production center. Here, we are producing more than 150 varieties of Adeniums and 25 varieties of euphorbias. Vegetable seedlings, chilly varieties with fruit, Brinjal and Tomato varieties with fruits. Bougainvilles, Mandevilla creeper, Golden Cypress, Rose varieties, Avocado fruit plants, different varieties of Mangos, Suppotta, Lime varieties, Pomegranate plants, papaya, Drumstick, Guava varieties and some Palms and bamboo varieties are some of the other production here.

These plants are supplied to various nurseries in Kerala and Tamilnadu and major part is delivered to our retail nurseries located in different parts of Kerala.

Our Mother Farm

Our Mother farm is located at Sreekrshnapuram (Palakkad district) 3 Km. away fromThottara L.P School Junction (Ottappalam – Mannarkkad Road) or 7 Km from Vattambalam Junction (Kozhikkode – Palakkad NH). This nursery is spread across 50 Acers of land on the banks of Kunthi River which originates from Attappadi hills. More than 2 lakh square feet area is equipped with poly house and shade house facilities. Automatic sprinkler facility is installed for irrigation in the whole property. Most modern equipments are used here for our agricultural activities.

This is our main production center for different types of fruit plants, Ornamental plants, commercial crops and rubber plants. All our R&D activities are undertaken here. It is more remarkable that the company has been providing facilities to extend support not only to farmers but also to the scientists and research students of horticulture and agriculture.

Cheerakuzhy group of Nurseries is engaged in research and development of exotic varieties of fruit trees that can grow in Indian climate. More than 250 varieties of native and non-native fruit varieties have been distributed through our nursery. With the support and guidelines from department of agriculture, State Horticulture Mission and National horticulture mission, we are flourishing the interest of fruit plant industry and fruit cultivators in India.

In our Mother farm, there are more than 1000 species of plants including several exotic fruit varieties. These plants which are planted in our orchard were collected from different tropical regions of the world such as Florida, Mexico, African countries, Guatemala, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Laos, Philippines, Myanmar, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, other Southeast Asian counties and other South American countries. Our collection gallery of exotic fruit varieties are increasing day by day and our orchard is becoming a haven like kingdom for birds. They are enjoying our lovely fruits with our family, guests and neighborhoods. We are collecting seeds and scions for the production for new plants from this orchard. Some of the major commercial fruit varieties are worth mentioning in detail.

Rambutan

Rambutan(Nephelium lappaceum) fruit plant is a medium sized tropical tree and it is one of our major production here. This fruit is native to the Malay-Indonesian region. This fruit is now widely cultivated in Kerala and Kongan regions as a promising commercial crop. The fruit has high demand in Kerala as well as all over India. Rambutan plant is propagated by young budding technique and supplying to all over India with our wide network. We have wide range of varieties in Rambutan including Malaysian, Indonesian, Vietnam, Sri Lankan and Philippines varieties.Malaysian rambutan varieties (Red and yellow) are most popular verities among all.

Recently, we have introduced the world famous Indonesian variety "Binjai" in Indian fruit plant market. This is one of the high demanding rambutan variety in the world fruit market. Another variety which is introduced by us is "Rapiah" . This is called "green eating rambutan" which is having sweet taste even if it is not fully ripe. Another famous Indonesian varieties are Garuda and Lebak Bulus. Also, we are producing other Sri Lankan/Malaysian varieties like Malwana, school boy, pretty Queen, Rambutan King, Sunrise etc.

Jack Fruit

Jack fruit is the largest tree fruit in the world. It is packed with protein, Vitamin B and Potassium. The seeds are rich in thiamin which helps in turning the food you eat into energy. There is a big scope for jack fruit in the fruit market. It is high time to think about the jack fruit plantations of same variety fruit which helps the processing industry to produce value added products with same quality.

Considering these facts, we have planted more than 20 varieties of jack fruits in our mother farm which are having good commercial character and taste. Most of our varieties are imported which are suitable for our climatic conditions and some others are locally identified.

In our collection, one of the locally identified variety is "December Honey". The character of this variety is that the fruit will get ripened in November-December where in Kerala other varieties are ripen in March to June. Since it is having very sweet & crispy taste as well as early season variety, the market potential for this variety is very high. Other major locally identified varieties are Honey jack, Gum less jack, All season jack, All season mini jack, Rose varikka, Chembarathi varikka, Pathamuttam Varikka etc.

Our imported jack fruit varieties are Thailand all season jack, Thailand red jack, Deang surya red jack, Singapore varikka, Malaysian J-33, Indonesian mini boll jack, Vietnam early jack, Skinless jack, Seedless jack etc.

Durian

Durian fruit is delicious, soft and sweet from inside and very popular for its unique characteristics but has thorny spikes that cover the exteriors.In South East Asian country "Durian" is considered as the "King of fruits"

It is seasonal fruit that grows from June to August same as Mango and Jackfruit. It is known for its large size and fully matured fruit can reach a size of 30 centimeters easily. Even Durian trees are usually very tall and range between 25-50 meters. Durian fruit has pleasant sweet and buttery taste. Durian fruit contains round seed and are usually discarded, but they can be consumed.

There are so many varieties of Durian fruit all over the world. Some of the world famous varieties are Monthong, Musang king, Bowar, Petruk, Kani etc. which are grown in Cheerakuzhy farm. We are propagating all these varieties through budding. Budded plants will start fruiting within three years after planting.

Longan

Longan is a very delicious tropical fruit which can be grown commercially. Lots of farmers are doing commercial cultivation of Longan in Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia.It is one of the high demanded fruit in the world fruit market. The Longan fruit has a light brown smooth outer skin and is also called the dragon eye fruit. The flesh is white and there is a black seed in the middle, hence the name, Dragon Eye fruit. While they all have a black seed in the middle, the ratio of seed to fruit is almost perfect in a Longan and looks like an eyeball when cut in half. This fruit has a more tart and distinctive flavor. In our mother farm, there are several commercial varieties of Longanthat have been planted for the purpose of propagation of plant. Some of them are Itho, Poung thong, New Crystal, Biew-Kiew etc.

Also there are several home garden varieties that are available at our farm such as Ruby Longan, Matalada, Pingpong, Dimond river etc.

Mangos

We have vast collection of Mango varieties in our farm. Mango is considered as the king of fruits in India. We are producing major Indian varieties such as Alphonso, Neelam, Banganapally, Kalapadi, Mallika, Keser, Himapasanth, Dhakshari, Kossery, Kalluketty, Kottukonam etc and major international varieties such as Nam doc Mai, Kieo savoy, Thailand all season, Israel Green, Israel Red, Thailand Jumbo red, Myanmar king, Indonesian Honey Mango etc. Our main propagation method is budding especially young budding. Hence, the growth rate of the plant will be considerably high comparing to grafting and layering method. Most of these variety of mangoes are propagated through budding in our farm.

Other Exotic and Common fruit varieties

In our orchard, there are more than 1000 species of plants. Among them, more than 500 are of fruit variety. Exotic fruits like Black suppotta, Mammy suppotta, Yellow sappotta, Borojo fruit, Peanut butter fruit, Spanish lime, Finger lime, Budha's hand lime, Tropical avocado, Rollinia, Sweet Soursop, Chupa-Chupa, Japanese Cherry, Nankadak, Marang, Marian plum or Maprang, Abiu, Milk Fruit, Cucumber Suppotta, Seedless Jack, Skin less jack, Keppel, Santhol, dragon fruit etc are some examples.

Common fruits like Suppotta varieties, Lime varieites, Orange varieites, Sugar apple, Custard apple, Water apple, Mango varieites, avocado, Lychee, Cembadak, Guava, Burmese grape, cashew apple, etc…etc. are available at our nursery.
